If you've downloaded and played the demo for Pokémon Sun and Moon, then you've already been introduced to Ash's Greninja. Granted, the demo doesn't explicitly say the Greninja belongs to Ash – the letter you're sent at the start of the demo lacks any kind of name or return address – but Ash used a Greninja in the anime, so there isn't much room for doubt. Besides, forgetting to sign an important letter is exactly the kind of thing Ash would do. When you play the demo, Ash's Greninja is your primary Pokémon. It's not just a loaner, though: Greninja is yours to keep when you finish Professor Kukui's challenge and mop up Team Skull. You need to transfer Ash's Greninja from the demo to the full version of the game, once you have it. Thankfully, it's easy to do.

How to Transfer Ash's Greninja From the Pokémon Sun and Moon Demo into the Full Game

-Download the Pokémon Sun and Moon Demo from the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

-Play the demo until you finish the story portion (you'll know it's done when you see an ad video and are returned to the demo's title screen).

-Start up the game again and talk to Professor Kukui in the PokéCenter. When he asks you what you want, tell him you'd like to transfer items into the full game. Select Greninja under "Pokémon." You can also transfer other items you picked up during the demo.

-Take care: If you have a Pokémon Sun or Moon card plugged into your 3DS and another version of the game downloaded onto your system, the Greninja and / or items you send into the full game will prioritize the card edition.

-When you begin playing the full version of Pokémon Sun and Moon, visit any PokéCenter. You'll see an NPC standing beside the counter who's not usually there. He'll tell you he's a messenger, and he'll deliver the goods. You need to have a clear spot in your Pokémon party to take in Greninja, so you might have to box a Pokémon first.

-Greninja is a powerful level-36 cuss, and he won't listen to you until you've completed at least two Island Challenges. Keep that in mind when you retrieve him.

Greninja's stats, Nature, and Characteristic is stable in the Pokemon Sun and Moon demo. However, his stats, Nature, and Characteristic may change when you transfer him. In any case his moveset always includes Water Shuriken, Aerial Ace, Double Team, and Night Slash. His ability is Battle Bond, which causes it to become Ash-Greninja upon defeating an opposing Pokémon.
